But I am changing directions and will not be adding more photographs to this blog. Please enjoy the images that are up here.
One of the observations that have been pointed out to me, rightly so, is that much of this photography is casual and fast, and in many cases, not my best work. To be more direct, some of the people I have shot have indicated that they look a lot better then my photos show--- and they are correct. I have not "finished" or touched up many of the club of candid photos-and put these images up on the same day (If not in the same hour) of taking them. The more "formal" work - with solid backgrounds and lighting effects does for the most part look better, but does not necessarily have more "sex appeal".
I would like to demonstrate what I am talking about by showing two photos of myself.
Here is a self portrait I took of myself- I needed a nice conservative shot, and just used normal surnise light.
By processing this a bit, putting it in a nice vignette, neutralizing the color, and bringing out the highlights a bit- the photo looks more three-dimensional and "finished". However, the top photo is really what you would see on SL. I had to use three photo editors to achieve this effect; I do these approaches with my portrait photography,
There was no other way to photograph nearly 200 avatars in seven months. This really is photojournalism. I now will be concentrating on more formal photography, except for on-the-spot photography for live events. FYI this nice photograph of myself on Nelson has not been processed or touched up but I still think it looks nice!)
Thanks for your attention, Eddi
